Getting your Free Annual Credit Report

Well it is that time again, time to get your credit report and verify everything on it. While you are there make sure you check all three, information on one is not necessarily the same as the next. Last year I had a medical bill on mine that was from when I got hurt at work and never was paid -- turns out they sent it to work street and my town so it never got anywhere -- but the point is that only one of the three credit agencies showed it on the report.

I get all three each year and will continue to do so in April of every year. Unless you are either buying a house or not sure how your credit stands, don't waste your money on the FICO scores that they will all try to sell you. If you must know this info, Experian has the lowest price on these reports while going through this process.

The FCC has a bit of info on "Imposter Sites" when ordering your annual credit report. While I could post a link to the Annual Credit Report.com site, you are better off linking to it from the FTC: FTC website on credit. Do this right now and then mark your calendar to do it again in 1 year and 1 day!
