eBay: Jimmy Buffett autographed Cubs jersey

Looks like Jimmy Buffett's Cubs Jersey is up to $15,700. I really wanted this but for crying out loud, I don't have that kind of money. Looks like it will go to some memoribilia shop or some rich dude with more money that he can spend. Oh well, at least it going to a good cause, all the money from this goes to benefit the American Red Cross to help out those poor people who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. Hopefully the people who get helped by the sale of this jersey will not be the ones with their hands out every other day of their life -- you know the ones I am talking about.

Let's help these people get their lives in order, not help them get their old lives back. Put them to work rebuilding New Orleans, don't just rebuild it for them!!

Peace out!

Cleaning up spam comments

Well, I am trying to keep my blog somewhat clean for the 2 of you who want to read it. I just implemented some word verification so that future comments will not be spam disguised as comments... f*&^ing spammers, like anyone wants to read their shit anyway. It has gotten so bad that I think it is overtaking spyware as the most annoying thing again, they are getting beat up in the email front so now they are moving to the comments in blogs and web articles.

Oh well, give it a try and see how you like it, if you are not a machine, you will realize how cool it really is.

Leinart's one class (Heisman Trophy Winner)

Matt Leinart, USC's star quarterback and last year's Heisman Trophy winner is doing something honorable this year. He is completing his bachelor's degree before going on to the NFL. In today's day & age, everyone seems to dump school and take the money and run (not that I specifically blame them).

Oh wait just a second, Mr. Leinart is taking a single course this sememster (his final semester) and do you know what that class is: No, well let me help you, he is taking Ballroom Dancing to fulfill a requirement for physical education! Am I the only one who sees a problem with this "loophole" in the NCAA rules.
Matt Leinart would like to dance away from USC with another national championship.

The fifth-year senior will have plenty of time to focus on football in his final season. Leinart is enrolled in one class: Ballroom dancing will fulfill the final elective for his sociology degree, The Los Angeles Times reported.

"I put in my work to get my degree," he told the paper. "I came back for my fifth year, and I'm taking what's necessary for me to graduate. And that's two units."

Don't strain yourself Matt, we would not want to think you have the unfair advantage over the competition, such as not having to study!
NCAA rules require student-athletes to enroll in 12 semester or quarter hours unless they are in their final semester or quarter and are taking the courses needed to graduate.

Sounds to me like Coach Pete Carroll has been getting his hands in the middle of the player's acedemics:
Wide receiver Greig Carlson is also taking only one class, while seven other fifth-year seniors are working on master's degrees or another bachelor's degree or minor, the Times reported.

"It's all up to the individual," coach Pete Carroll told the paper. "I think they've earned that right. They earned that by hard work."
