Welcome to Disneyworld

Well I have been at Walt Disneyworld for almost a week and loving just about every second of it. Learning tons and will put much of it on my technical section of my website later in the week but for now, you can visit the site and see what is there prior to the conference (it will be up by Saturday).
I will also post some pictures of our trip in my gallery as well, to get there, click HERE!
Till next time, as Mickey Mouse would say, "Golly Gee, I sure am glad you came by!"

TV Calls Air Force for Help

This story was taken from WPVI.com ABC 6 out of Philadelphia, PA.

It's the case of the TV that was calling for help.

An Air Force search and rescue alert was trigged by Chris van Rossman's flatscreen Toshiba TV. It has a built-in VCR, DVD and CD player. And an undocumented feature that has authorities scratching their heads.

Some sort of electric glitch was causing van Rossman's TV to transmit on the international distress frequency. The signal was picked up by a satellite and relayed to the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center in Virginia.

Van Rossman had no idea until airmen, deputies and Corvallis, Oregon, police were knocking on the door of his apartment. The errant signal was traced to his TV set.

Van Rossman was warned to keep the TV off or face a $10,000 fine for sending a false distress signal.

A spokeswoman for Toshiba says they've never heard of this sort of problem before. But the company is promising to give van Rossman a new TV.

Where o where has it gone...

Well today we have some high priced consultants coming in to look at our phone system and some of the problems we are having with it. It looks like we are having problems with our CallManager (main phone system), Unity (voice mail), and Personal Assistant (call forwarding/following). I personally think it is a little bit of each of these that is causing the problem, but hey, I am not the one making the big bucks...

Once these guys get here, they are going to get jumped by staff members who want a bunch of other things done for them on the phone system and then they will figure out why I wanted some people here instead of them dialing into the system.

Gotta run, but I still have some GMAIL invites to give away if anyone wants them, contact me!

Spent the whole week working on phone problems

Well this has not been a very productive week, I have spent most of the week working on phone problems with our Cisco VOIP system. This Windows based IP phone system has done really well for us, we have not needed to shut down the server for 1 year... but of course the first time we do, problems hit.

We have a Cisco Call Manager and a bunch of the 79xx series
Oh well problems appear to be fixed now so we will call it a day.

Till next time, c'ya!

Nothing much to say

I don't have a lot to say today, really sleepy since I finished my paper for grad school at 4:00 AM and had to get up for work at about 7:15. Good news (sarchasm) is that I have class tonight so I will be ready to go to bed as soon as I get home from class. Of course I will have to work my dogs first since they have school tomorrow, but I can do that for about a half hour then sleep.

I am trying to cancel a credit card (as I have been for the last 25 minutes) and they are making it incredibly difficult. The guy seems to not even listen to a word I am saying, he is just trying so hard to not let me cancel the card. He just put my on hold and as soon as he came back and figured out that I was not going to keep the card open, he rattled off the stuff he had to say and then hung up on me. What an @sshole, guess that will be the ABSOLUTE LAST TIME I ever deal with CHASE!!

Gotta run, I gotta go to class now. So sad for me...

Another wonderful story about a dog

For anyone who knows anything at all about me, they know that I LOVE DOGS, and I love all good/happy stories about dogs. I came across a funny story reading another blogger's blog today here. This is a really good story about a dog who breaks out of his crate much like our little Riley did -- but he does not hurt himself when he does it, just releases some of his buddies and runs around with them.

Oh well, at least good ole' Red is having fun with his buddies and none of them are getting hurt. Gotta run, see ya in a bit...

After a long weekend

Well after a long weekend, we finally got all the drywall up and the first coat of primer on the walls. If you are interested to see a picture of what things looked like in the boy's bedroom before the just before the drywall went up, here is a picture of Leslie talking with Mike (neighbor across the street who is helping finish the basement), here you go.
. I will post more pictures in the gallery as soon as there is something of interest to get up there.

Also this weekend, Leslie and I bought a bar for our basement and we think we found the card table that we are going to get. They are both so cool and the bar is leading to the perfect image of an Ole Irish Pub. Gotta run for now, till next time, keep your ear to the ground to hear the buffalo come' a' runnin'.
